The Metropolitan Police only sought charging decisions from prosecutors on two of the 21 women who accused Mohamed Al Fayed of sexual offences, raising significant concerns about their response to abuse allegations.
In total, the BBC reported that at least 65 women have now come forward with allegations against Al Fayed, highlighting a troubling pattern of abuse dating back to 1977.
The Met admitted to receiving prior complaints from 21 women about Al Fayed and is currently conducting an internal review into those earlier allegations.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed it only made charging decisions regarding a limited number of cases, suggesting a significant lack of action on numerous allegations.
