The Women at the Helm regatta runs June 13–14 as part of the National Yacht Club Regatta weekend, with racing across the bay and onshore events supporting women at every level. The fifth edition targets experienced sailors who typically do not take the helm to step forward and lead. Taking the helm involves assuming responsibility for tactical decisions, reading changing conditions, directing the crew, and responding in real time. The helm role includes deciding race strategy, selecting the approach tactically and strategically, and communicating clearly while under pressure.
