"I was lucky to figure out what I wanted to do so early," Stevenson says, reflecting on his early start in the culinary world which paved his path to sommelier.
"And I love storytelling. I think that a big part of the enjoyment of wine is the story that's told around it," Stevenson explains his passion for wine and its cultural significance.
"It's crazy and it's surreal," says Stevenson, acknowledging his journey from a short-order cook to a Michelin-starred wine program director.
"Usually I'll come up with a dish and he'll fill in the blanks," says chef Garcia about Stevenson's collaborative approach in pairing wine with food.
