Safari beta lets you selectively block distractions like pop-ups
Briefly

Apple introduces Distraction Control in Safari, allowing users to filter out distracting elements on web pages without being an ad blocker. Users can selectively hide portions of a webpage like overlays or cookie requests, which will be blocked on future visits.
Distraction Control won't permanently remove ads or elements that refresh on each visit, making it ineffective for banner ads. Users have to manually select distracting areas on a webpage and nothing is hidden without user interaction.
