I Built a Niche Site and Ranked it On Google in a Short Time - Here's How | HackerNoon
Briefly

After five years in the SEO world, I've learned that the true measure of an SEO 'expert' is whether they can rank their own site. Talk is cheap; results are everything! With over 60,000 monthly visitors and a Domain Rating of 69, I built my site from scratch. It took sweat, tears, mistakes, and a deep understanding of SEO to achieve this. Now, I'm documenting my challenge of building and ranking a fresh site, which is incredibly difficult but worth it.
Every successful SEO strategy starts with research. For this new project, I aimed to rank for a niche with low Keyword Difficulty and high monthly searches: 'colorful socks' with a KD of 8 and 19,000 searches. Choosing the right keyword is crucial; the wrong keyword can doom your efforts from the start. It's always better to dominate a small niche than fail in a hyper-competitive one.
Your domain name matters; ideally, it should closely match your target keyword. While 'colorfulsocks.com' was taken and too expensive, I secured a close alternative. A domain that aligns with your primary keyword gives you an edge in search rankings. It's a significant advantage in your SEO strategy. Look for names like 'bestproductname.com' or 'topproductname.com' to enhance your chances of success.
