Google is overhauling its core search engine into an AI-driven hub that replaces the traditional one-line results approach. The search box expands dynamically to fit long, conversational questions and is powered by Gemini 3.5 Flash. Users can type complex queries and upload files, photos, videos, or provide Chrome tabs as input. AI Overview summaries support follow-up questions on both desktop and mobile while retaining chat context for continuous conversation. Google is also launching “information agents” that complete long-term research tasks in the background. These agents can track listings and make phone calls to help users finish tasks without repeatedly checking websites.
