At LVMH Watch Week in New York, Louis Vuitton highlighted its prowess in horology by introducing six new versions of its Spin Time complication. This innovative mechanism replaces traditional hour hands with 12 cubes, offering a quirky yet sophisticated time-telling experience. This event follows the brand's successful re-entry into high watchmaking with the relaunch of its Tambour watch in 2023. Jean Arnault, Vuitton's watch director, credits the Spin Time invention as central to their foray into high horology, marking a pivotal moment in their luxury watch journey.
Without Spin Time, we would not have embarked on the challenge of entering high watchmaking in this manner, said Jean Arnault, Louis Vuitton's watch director.
This year, it delivered something pretty exceptional in the form of six—count 'em, six—new riffs on the house's signature Spin Time complication.
The first Spin Time watch arrived in 2009 with the first movement created for Louis Vuitton by Swiss manufacture Fabrique du Temps working away inside.
Since the relaunch of the flagship Tambour watch in 2023, Vuitton has aggressively reestablished itself as a real player in the world of high horology.
