GoTag is a compact GPS tracker designed with intentional form and hand-feel rather than anonymous puck styling. Sketch explorations tested multiple silhouettes before selecting an egg-like shape. Foam models were held to confirm proportions and surface breakup, guiding the balance between a smooth upper zone and a textured lower half. The upper half is smooth and slightly glossy with one circular “GO” button for interactions. The lower half uses dense micro-diamond texture for grip and light reflection, with a flush LED. A woven fabric loop at the top connects to carabiners, keychains, or bag strap attachments. Colorways pair lighter upper tones with darker lower sections, including orange/black, lavender/deep purple, sky blue/navy, white/lime green, and pink/rose.
"The finished form splits into two distinct zones. The upper half is smooth and slightly glossy, carrying a single circular "GO" button for all interactions. The lower half switches to a dense micro-diamond texture that adds grip and changes how the material catches light. A small LED sits flush in that lower section, while a woven fabric loop at the top connects to any carabiner, keychain, or bag strap."
