Dog owners are embracing innovative wellness trends that treat pets with more care and technology, akin to human wellness practices. This shift reflects a change in mindset, as aging pets are now seen as family members deserving of premium care, including CBD supplements and AI tech. Younger pet parents specifically seek holistic, natural wellness solutions. Veterinarians emphasize the importance of consulting professionals before opting for new wellness products, ensuring that choices are tailored to each pet's individual needs, blending physical, mental, and emotional health.
"I want my dog to not only live long, but I want them to live long and well, which is very different than a past mindset," Maddie Guy, co-founder of pet supplement brand Buddy, told The Post.
"As we've seen the evolution of our pets go from, 'He's just a dog who lives outside,' to now truly part of our family members, we not only want to be proactive in their physical well-being, but we also want to really support their mental and emotional well-being," she said.
"This shift has placed more emphasis on pet owners providing their pets premium care that more resembles their own wellness preferences," Kate Onorato, pet trends expert, told The Post.
"If you are ever in doubt, take the product information and talk to your veterinarian so that you can always be assured that it's perfect for them," Bernal said.
