What we've learned about the Commanders - and what they still need to prove
Briefly

The Commanders have a quarterback, but neither he nor the offense is a finished product. This is obvious, but it's worth repeating. Daniels has moxie and a skill set that have instilled hope of a long-term turnaround in Washington.
Coach Dan Quinn and General Manager Adam Peters have preached for months that this team is just starting its rebuild (or its "recalibration," as Quinn has said) and needs time. The Commanders played so well so quickly, which was surprising.
The Commanders' defense started the season slow and remains inconsistent, making enough gaffes to cost them games. But the group has shown significant improvement, and the playmakers are making themselves known.
Edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr. is one of them: Entering Sunday, his 8.5 sacks ranked third in the NFL. The team's plan for Luvu was to do a little of everything. So far, so good.
