Von Miller expressed confidence in his abilities as an edge rusher during his introductory press conference with the Washington Commanders. He signed a one-year deal worth $6.1 million, looking to contribute to the team's success. The Commanders had a solid sack total last season but struggled in critical moments. Both Miller and the team share a goal of reaching the Super Bowl, and Miller chose Washington for their commitment to winning, despite having options with other teams.
"Let me rush, that's what I do," Miller said Thursday. "I can still roll out of bed at 36 years old with my shoes on and rush the passer."
The Commanders ranked 11th in sacks with 43 last season, but they were 30th in fourth-quarter sacks with only five.
Miller won a Super Bowl in Denver, when he was named the game's MVP, and with the Los Angeles Rams.
You just can't leave Josh Allen for anywhere," Miller said. "You can't go from the AFC Championship and go anywhere. ... This team is all about winning."
