Deceuninck, a door manufacturer, announced it will discontinue its title sponsorship of the Alpecin-Deceuninck and Fenix-Deceuninck cycling teams by 2025. This partnership began in 2022 and previously included Deceuninck-Quick Step from 2019-2021. The collaboration achieved significant success, including world titles and major stage wins. Despite stepping back as a title sponsor, Deceuninck is likely to remain a minor sponsor. The team is now seeking a new secondary sponsor to join Alpecin, who has been the primary sponsor since 2020.
The successful collaboration has delivered the desired results in terms of brand awareness for the company, said Francis Van Eeckhout, Executive Chairman of Deceuninck.
The gratitude for their commitment is far greater than the disappointment over the decision to take a step back, said general manager Philip Roodhooft.
Of course, this presents a challenge for us as a team, but we were informed in a timely manner, Roodhooft added.
The four-year partnership has seen the men's and women's teams take world titles in various cycling disciplines.
