The National Symphony Orchestra and Kennedy Center have reached a temporary agreement following a strike that canceled the Season Opening Gala but allowed it to proceed as planned.
The new 18-month agreement between the NSO musicians and Kennedy Center includes wage increases, enhanced healthcare options, modifications to the tenure system, and paid parental leave.
Despite the earlier cancellation of the sold-out concert, the NSO was ready to perform as soon as they secured a favorable agreement with the Kennedy Center.
With the strike now resolved, members of the NSO are beginning rehearsals for the gala concert, signaling an end to the labor dispute.
