The Caps are thriving. So are their minor league affiliates.
Briefly

The Capitals have been one of the NHL's biggest surprises...at 19-6-2, their 40 points had them in a tie with the Minnesota Wild and the Winnipeg Jets for first place in the NHL.
The Bears are back-to-back Calder Cup champions...they are 17-6-3 and only now hitting their stride - while already a first-place team.
The turnaround under Jared Nightingale has been quick, with the club sprinting out to a 16-5-1 record...the connection runs deeper than that.
When you have that and you're all on the same page, it usually is a formula for success.
