Wes Johnson, the public address announcer for the Washington Capitals, was found unresponsive in his hotel room in Georgia prior to a benefit event for Alzheimer's. His family reported that he is in serious condition and they are monitoring his health on an hour-by-hour basis. A GoFundMe campaign was initiated by close friend Bill Glasser to support his medical expenses, highlighting the urgent nature of his situation and emphasizing the efforts made to locate him when he didn’t appear for the event.
On Wednesday, Jan. 22nd, Wes volunteered to host a benefit event for the National Alzheimer's Foundation in Atlanta. He flew down and checked into his hotel room- but something happened and he didn't make it out of the hotel.
The Washington Capitals express our heartfelt thoughts and send our best wishes to our beloved public address announcer, Wes Johnson, as he faces a significant medical emergency.
