We built A Minecraft Movie's iconic worlds using Unreal Engine - and here's how
Briefly

The Minecraft Movie has taken the cinematic world by storm, but its creation required innovative approaches to capture the game's unique environments. Warner Bros. enlisted Disguise as the Virtual Art Department, using Unreal Engine to build virtual environments that accurately portrayed Minecraft’s cubic world. By collaborating closely with the film’s art department, they created assets that were not only visually stunning but also immersive. The integration of virtual sets allowed for a dynamic filming experience, ensuring that the final product met the high expectations of fans and moviegoers alike.
We were brought on to create virtual environments that would help the director recreate the cubic world of the game as a convincing backdrop for modern moviegoers.
Unreal Engine was at the core of our technical pipeline to build, review, and iterate on all the virtual environments for the film.
