Warner Bros. Cancels Wonder Woman Game And Shuts Down Shadow Of Mordor Studio
Briefly

Warner Bros. Games has officially canceled the Wonder Woman game being developed by Monolith Productions, alongside the closure of the studio itself. This decision, part of a broader restructuring due to recent game failures like Suicide Squad and MultiVersus, aims to refocus investment on key franchises such as Harry Potter and Mortal Kombat. Warner Bros. emphasized the talented teams but clarified that such changes are necessary for long-term profitability and growth, hoping for a successful turnaround in gaming by 2025.
We have had to make some very difficult decisions to structure our development studios and investments around building the best games possible with our key franchises -- Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, DC and Game of Thrones.
This is a strategic change in direction and not a reflection of these teams or the talent that consists within them.
Our hope was to give players and fans the highest quality experience possible for the iconic character, and unfortunately this is no longer possible within our strategic priorities.
As difficult as today is, we remain focused on and excited about getting back to producing high-quality games for our passionate fans and developed by our world class studios.
