Unreal Engine 6 will "address core limitations" but developers aren't sold
Briefly

Unreal Engine 5 has become the leading game development engine, but developers are curious about its successor, Unreal Engine 6. CEO Tim Sweeney revealed plans to integrate features from both Unreal Engine 5 and Unreal Editor for Fortnite. The new version will simplify gameplay programming, improve management of larger simulations, and maintain backward compatibility. Although demos are not expected for at least two years, Epic is actively working within Fortnite's ecosystem to test features with its community before broader release.
The aim for UE 6 is to bring the best of both worlds together. Much easier gameplay programming for the Fortnite community and for licensees.
We've been doing this experiment entirely within the world of Unreal Editor for Fortnite for now. We want to test this and iterate with Fortnite creators.
