Trolls mock me for having fewer viewers, Fortnite streamer Ninja tells BBC
"I think I'm the only streamer on the planet who was pulling 100,000 viewers [per stream] consistently, but now I get like seven or eight thousand across Twitch and YouTube."
"So that's something that the internet and trolls remind me of every day and the last couple of years have been rough."
"It's literally every day that I'm getting berated online."
"I still love it and have a community that is strong and stays with me. I'm a gamer and an entertainer at heart - its in my blood."
Tyler 'Ninja' Blevins experienced peak livestream audiences of about 100,000 viewers per stream but now averages roughly 7–8 thousand across Twitch and YouTube. Daily online harassment targets his reduced viewership, forcing moderators to remove rude participants during streams. The decline is attributed in part to Fortnite's waning popularity despite Fortnite creating in-game skins modelled on him. He retains around 67 million followers across platforms and an estimated net worth of $50 million. Continued streaming remains his plan, supported by a strong community, and a planned 24-hour charity stream will raise awareness about skin cancer.
