There may finally be an end in sight for the SAG-AFTRA voice actors' strike
Briefly

SAG-AFTRA has tentatively agreed on terms for the Interactive Media Contract with gaming companies after months of negotiations. The agreement is pending review and ratification by the National Board and SAG-AFTRA members. The strike, initiated on July 26, 2024, will remain in effect until an agreement with employers is finalized. A significant issue during negotiations was the use of AI in voice-acting for video games, affecting titles like Destiny 2 and League of Legends. SAG-AFTRA expressed gratitude for the performers' sacrifices during the strike and emphasized the necessary protections for their livelihoods in the AI landscape.
It is expected the terms of a strike suspension agreement will be finalized with employers soon. Until such agreement is reached, however, SAG-AFTRA members will remain on strike against these employers.
Patience and persistence has resulted in a deal that puts in place the necessary AI guardrails that defend performers' livelihoods in the AI age, alongside other important gains.
