Starting January 30, 2024, the Video Game History Foundation is launching its digital archives, providing public access to a vast collection focused on preserving video game history. This resource, still being developed, will include over 1,500 out-of-print game magazines alongside promotional materials and development assets. It is designed not merely as a scan repository; users can search for specific games and historical terms. However, current copyright laws restrict remote access to playable titles.
An accessible digital archive has been a goal of the VGHF since its founding in 2017. It will be tailored to aid in research of video game history.
The digital archive will allow you to search for mentions of specific games, publishers, and authors, enhancing research capabilities in video game history.
