"Ricky Gervais has approved a female lead; he's very excited about a female lead--just in case anyone is angry," Ward said at a recent event, as reported by Variety.
"I did zero preparation, because I read the script and I'm like, 'Oh my god, this is every annoying part of my personality.' I've been preparing for this my whole life," Ward said. "It was just all in the script."
Ward playfully mentioned she is feeling "pretty chill" ahead of the show's debut, noting English fans of The Office are accepting of changes to the series.
The Office will premiere on Prime Video in Australia and the UK on October 18, with no confirmation about a release in America.
