According to Naughty Dog, Grounded II began filming in 2016, but was abandoned just ahead of The Last of Us Part II's launch in 2020 due to the covid-19 pandemic.
Just how much the documentary will go into the state of the studio during development, which was reportedly in crunch mode to get the game out the door, remains to be seen. However, the topic of crunch does come up in the teaser.
