Naughty Dog president Neil Druckmann has suggested that 'The Last of Us Part 3' may not happen, despite earlier indications of having a concept for it. In a recent interview, he stated, 'don't bet on there being more of 'Last of Us.' This could be it,' contrasting his prior excitement about the potential for another entry. This shift in stance coincides with the studio focusing on a new franchise, announced as 'Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet,' indicating a strategic pivot for Naughty Dog away from this acclaimed series.
Druckmann suggested that fans shouldn't expect a sequel to 'The Last of Us,' stating, 'I guess the only thing I would say is don't bet on there being more of 'Last of Us.' This could be it.'
Previously expressing excitement about a third game, Druckmann noted, 'recently, that's changed, and I don't have a story, but I do have that concept that to me is as exciting as 1, as exciting as 2.'
