FromSoftware's upcoming title, The Duskbloods, is set to break the mold with its emphasis on PvPvE multiplayer for the Nintendo Switch 2. Shifting away from the typical doll-like maidens, players will instead encounter a whimsical winged rat character that serves as a guide. Game director Hidetaka Miyazaki expressed a desire to try something different, describing the character as an elderly gentleman, reflecting a lighter, more playful approach in collaboration with Nintendo. With a release date in 2026, The Duskbloods promises innovative gameplay while retaining elements familiar to fans.
Miyazaki says that the developer "tried doing something a little Nintendo-esque in the spirit of the partnership" with that character.
"We tried something cute for a change," Miyazaki explains. "Although I will say this character is actually an elderly gentleman."
