The Chinese version of the Nintendo Switch won't be able to access the eShop in 2026
Briefly

Nintendo has announced that Nintendo Switch owners in China will no longer be able to purchase games from the eShop starting March 31, 2026.
Chinese Nintendo Switch consoles have limited access to games and can't interact with international consoles, which could impact their utility and appeal.
To compensate, Nintendo is introducing a WeChat redemption service for selected games, available between November 27, 2024, and March 31, 2026.
The decision not to allow purchases through the eShop in China is speculated to be influenced by a trend towards international versions of the console.
