The long-running meme in gaming that calls titles like Fortnite and League of Legends 'dead games' often overlooks that the games are still actively supported and played.
Concord, developed by Firewalk Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, launched on Aug. 23 but was removed from storefronts by Sept. 6, marking one of the quickest closures in gaming.
Game director Ryan Ellis indicated the studio would revisit Concord after the servers shut down, exploring future options despite its brief life, where only about 25,000 copies were sold.
Sony's decision to refund players who bought Concord, while reminiscent of previous game pulls, highlights the challenges and dynamics of the current gaming market.
