Nintendo has announced that it is taking proactive measures to prevent scalpers from impacting the upcoming Switch 2 launch. President Shuntaro Furukawa indicated that the company would apply its past experiences to ensure adequate stock to meet heightened demand. The challenges faced during the COVID pandemic, which led to a surge in demand and stock shortages for the original Switch, have informed their current strategy. Additional details about the Switch 2 will be shared in an upcoming Nintendo Direct, while preparations for a hands-on experience are underway.
"We will take all possible measures based on the experience we have accumulated to date," Furukawa said.
"As a countermeasure against resale, we believe that the most important thing is to produce a sufficient number to meet customer demand."
