The Nintendo Switch 2 Direct revealed Upgrade Packs costing $10 for existing owners of certain titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Bill Trinen from Nintendo confirmed this pricing structure, noting that only new buyers would pay the SRP of $80. Nintendo Switch Online members can access the upgrades at no extra charge. The enhanced Switch 2 Editions will not only improve performance but also introduce features like Zelda Notes for deeper player engagement.
The $80 MSRP that emerged after the event, Trinen says, is only for those who have not previously purchased the game.
For somebody who has bought Tears of the Kingdom or Breath of the Wild, the upgrade packs for those are $9.99.
Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members will not incur additional charges for the Zelda upgrade packs, as they are included in the membership.
The Nintendo Switch 2 Editions will include improved frame rates, faster load times, HDR support, and a new app feature called Zelda Notes.
