The studio was hinted at in an interview, where Blundell emphasized the importance of delivering a game rather than focusing on studio announcements. While he previously faced challenges with his last venture, Deviation Games, the establishment of Dark Outlaw brings PlayStation's total first-party studios to 15, thus enhancing its portfolio in the gaming industry.
I've had the amazing opportunity to create a new studio within PlayStation Studios for Sony. The studio is called Dark Outlaw.
