Marathon Alpha Update Allows Players To Talk About The Game
Briefly

Bungie has lifted the NDA for the upcoming closed alpha test of its game Marathon, allowing players to share their experiences and feedback publicly. This decision aims to enhance community engagement, with feedback focusing on gameplay elements such as gunplay and player interactions. The alpha will run from April 23 to May 4 but will not reflect the final game’s visuals or narrative. Marathon, releasing on September 23, will be a premium title without a single-player mode, emphasizing its PvP structure and supporting cross-play and cross-save.
As developers we believe community feedback and dialog is essential to make the best version of Marathon. Up until now, this feedback has come from closed playtest sessions.
Bungie clarified that the alpha will not include aspects such as final visuals, a polished user interface, a complete narrative, and ranked play.
Marathon will not have a single-player mode like the Destiny franchise does, due to the PvP experience being the foundation of it.
Marathon launches on September 23 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, supporting both cross-play and cross-save, and is priced at $40.
