Judero devs say their next game is about 'hopefulness' and 'community'
Briefly

Developed by the creators of the celebrated Judero, Mashina is a unique stop-motion game featuring handmade animations and textures. The game revolves around a robot protagonist who explores environments while nurturing a society of automatons. With gameplay spanning underground mining and overground exploration, the developers aim to enhance the visual experience using techniques learned from their previous work. The Kickstarter campaign for Mashina has already garnered substantial support, underscoring the anticipation for this visually compelling project, which seeks to evoke themes of hopefulness and community.
Everything in Mashina is handmade out of various materials and animated using traditional stop-motion techniques.
We then turn the animations into textures and sprites we can use in game, adding normal maps which let us have dynamic lighting and shadows.
Mashina follows a robot of the same name as she digs up valuable materials and nurtures a society of fellow automatons.
All in all, Mashina looks as if it's being made with the same care and attention to detail that earned Judero an Excellence in Visual Arts nomination.
