Riot Games canceled Hytale six months earlier after a decade of development, then co-founder Simon Collins-Laflamme repurchased the game and saved Hypixel in November 2025. Hytale launches into early access on January 13 at 7 AM PT/10 AM ET, initially on PC with Mac and Linux versions to follow. The game will not appear on Steam and requires the Hytale Launcher for purchase and play. Three editions are available (Standard $24, Supporter $42, Cursebreaker Founder's $84) with differing cosmetic bundles. Collins-Laflamme set low pricing, assumed personal financial risk, warned of unfinished features and bugs, and said preorders secured two years of development funding.
