FromSoftware Intends to 'Actively Develop' Single-Player Games, Says Miyazaki
Briefly

FromSoftware recently revealed a new exclusive game for Nintendo Switch 2 called The Duskbloods, set for release in 2026. This multiplayer title will focus on Player-versus-Player and Player-versus-Environment (PvPvE) gameplay. Studio president Hidetaka Miyazaki addressed concerns regarding the studio's direction, confirming that they would continue to develop single-player experiences alongside this online multiplayer project. Miyazaki emphasized the intrigue of the PvPvE model while reiterating the importance of single-player games, especially with the upcoming launch of the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring, maintaining the studio's traditional design ethos.
As a side note, please allow me to address one thing. As previously mentioned, this is an online multiplayer title at its core, but this doesn't mean that we as a company have decided to shift to a more multiplayer-focused direction with titles going forward.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring was also announced, and we still intend to actively develop single player focused games such as this that embrace our more traditional style.
