Experts predict a huge June launch - and a high price - for Switch 2
Briefly

Game industry analysts anticipate that the Nintendo Switch 2 will achieve unprecedented success upon launch, expected to cost between $399 and $499. Analysts predict that Nintendo will be well-prepared with a stockpile of 6 to 8 million units to prevent scalping. The console's anticipated software lineup and strong third-party support are seen as key factors driving initial sales. The launch event, slated for April 2, is eagerly awaited by investors and fans alike for official announcements regarding pricing and features.
Speaking to Bloomberg, game industry analysts have predicted that the Nintendo Switch 2 will enjoy the biggest console launch ever, despite costing at least $399 - and maybe as much as $499.
Zhu said he expected Nintendo to have an astonishing 6 to 8 million Switch 2 units ready for the launch of the device. This tallies with earlier reports that Nintendo delayed the console's launch into 2025 to build up stock.
Analyst Serkan Toto predicted sales will also be driven by a strong software lineup with solid day-one third-party support. 'They will sell boatloads of Switch 2 in the first months in particular, almost regardless of the price,' Toto said.
On price, the analysts Bloomberg spoke to are unanimous in expecting the Switch 2 to cost at least $399 - which, again, agrees with Polygon's own analysis.
