Sony Interactive Entertainment has filed a response to a lawsuit from Christopher Barrett, a former Bungie creative director, claiming wrongful termination. Barrett alleges he was wrongfully accused to avoid paying $50 million owed to him. In response, Sony aims to dismiss most claims, highlighting serious accusations from female subordinates regarding Barrett's conduct. Despite Barrett's defense of mutual interest in communications, Sony states that many warnings were disregarded, leading to their investigation and Barrett's subsequent firing on March 25, 2024. A judge has not yet ruled on Sony's response.
"Barrett was fired after he'd been accused... for inappropriate and disturbing written and verbal communications."
"Sony's response denies that, saying that several women told Barrett to stop... were 'afraid for their jobs during these encounters.'"
