Borderlands 4 will be sold at $70 after all
Briefly

Borderlands 4 is now available for pre-order at the price of $69.99, down from the initially proposed $79.99. This announcement resolves ongoing speculation about the game's pricing in light of rising game costs in the industry. Alongside the base version, players can also choose from a Deluxe and Super Deluxe edition. The game will be further highlighted during the upcoming Borderlands Fan Fest on June 21, where new gameplay will debut. Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford noted the increased development costs which spurred a broader conversation about the gaming industry's pricing strategies.
On one level, we've got a competitive marketplace where the people that make those choices want to sell as many units as possible, and they want to be careful about people that are price-sensitive.
In the current climate where prices are a hot topic, the decision to set Borderlands 4's price at $69.99 was strategic to appease players wary of increasing costs.
