A French retailer listing for Assassin's Creed Shadows on Nintendo Switch 2 briefly appeared and was subsequently removed. The listing showed Switch 2 box art indicating a Game Key Card format, which has proven controversial because game data is not included on the card and must be downloaded. PEGI previously listed Switch 2 as a platform for the title. Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot teased that the game would receive "new versions that will come to other machines." Assassin's Creed Shadows launched in March on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S and is set in feudal Japan featuring Naoe and Yasuke.
