BioWare has announced a restructuring following the release of Dragon Age: The Veilguard, with many staff reassigned to other EA teams. General Manager Gary McKay stated that a core team, led by original Mass Effect trilogy veterans, will now focus on developing the next title in the franchise. While some staff have their roles terminated, they are being given opportunities to apply for positions in other EA teams. This shift aims toward creating a more agile studio that can produce unparalleled RPG experiences, as EA has confirmed alignment in staffing with the current development needs.
Now that Dragon Age: The Veilguard has been released, a core team at BioWare is developing the next Mass Effect game under the leadership of veterans from the original trilogy.
We have incredible talent here at BioWare, and so we have worked diligently over the past few months to match many of our colleagues with other teams at EA that had open roles that were a strong fit.
