NASA to Launch SPHEREx and PUNCH Missions: How to Watch
Briefly

NASA is preparing to launch two significant missions aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The primary mission, SPHEREx, is a space telescope designed to capture the entire sky's images in 102 colors of infrared light, aimed at exploring the universe's history. Alongside it, PUNCH will investigate the sun’s outer atmosphere and solar wind. The launch, originally scheduled for March 8, may encounter delays, but a broadcast will be available for observers, highlighting the continued excitement in space exploration efforts.
The rocket's chief passenger is SPHEREx, a space telescope that will take images of the entire sky in more than a hundred colors that are invisible to the human eye.
Accompanying the telescope is a suite of satellites known collectively as PUNCH, which will study the sun's outer atmosphere and solar wind.
SPHEREx is short for Spectro-Photometer for the History of the Universe, Epoch of Reionization and Ices Explorer, aiming to survey the entire sky in 102 wavelengths.
NASA is streaming a live broadcast of the launch on its website, beginning at 9:15 p.m. Eastern time on Saturday.
