Austrian VC Fund F closes first fund at 28M to back women-led European startups - Silicon Canals
Briefly

Vienna-based venture capital fund, Fund F, has successfully closed its first fund at €28 million, exceeding its €20 million target. The fund, significantly backed by the European Investment Fund with a €10 million investment, is committed to supporting early-stage startups in Europe, particularly those with at least one female co-founder. Fund F plans to invest around €300,000 in 25 startups while maintaining a focus on sectors such as ClimateTech and FemTech. Their investment strategy emphasizes diversity among both founders and LPs to ensure equitable capital allocation in the startup ecosystem.
"We often talk about the importance of gender diversity when it comes to founders and VC investment decisions, but diversity among LPs is just as critical. It shapes how capital is allocated, what opportunities are prioritized, and who gets to build the companies of the future," says Fund F's cofounder Nina Wöss.
Fund F is sector-agnostic but is particularly focused on several key sectors, including ClimateTech, FemTech & HealthTech, FinTech & InsurTech, and HR Tech.
