This 1899 Apartment Was a "Real West Village Gem Ready to Be Polished"
Briefly

Carlos Huber, architect and founder of ARQUISTE, shares his journey of finding his ideal apartment in Manhattan's West Village. After four years, he purchased a two-bedroom apartment built in 1899, requiring significant renovations to enhance its aesthetics and functionality. The couple saw the potential and undertook a comprehensive gut renovation, reflecting their love for art and historic interiors. Huber describes their home as not only practical with dedicated spaces but also filled with personality, warmth, and organized charm, making it a true representation of their lives together.
"I fell in love with this apartment because of its dedicated spaces: a proper dining room, a sunny living room, cozy bedrooms, and a perfect-size home office," Carlos shares.
"It was a diamond in the rough, the type of apartment you need to dedicate yourself to renovate," Carlos says. A real West Village gem ready to be polished.
"It's got all our personality. We love historic interiors, we love art, we love books," Carlos explains of the home they share with "his majesty, Chorizo" (their mini-dachshund).
