Sunny Jenkins relocated her family from Laurel Canyon to the Hudson Valley during the pandemic, inspired by a Zoom call. They sold their L.A. home for a Georgian-style house in Chatham, ideal for remote work. However, reality set in as her commute to the city for in-person work became cumbersome. Initially underestimating travel time, she decided to move to Rhinebeck to reduce her commute difficulties while preserving her love for the Hudson Valley lifestyle.
Jenkins was adamant about not moving to the city. 'I really love the Hudson Valley. I love the lifestyle. I loved the house,' she says.
What had seemed like 'a pretty quick Amtrak ride' was in fact almost two hours each way, on top of a 25-minute drive to the train station.
