The aim of this article is not to diminish the importance of aesthetics in UI design but rather to encourage deeper reflection on what constitutes a good design. Through these lines, I wish to share my vision of UI design: a discipline where visual elegance meets utility, where every aesthetic element plays a role in the overall user experience.
Behind the attractive facade of these 'fake' UI designs often lies a very different reality: designs that sorely lack functionality, meaning, and sometimes even a basic understanding of UX principles. Is a design that does not serve the end user truly a design?
