Paul Archer's Latest Home Features A Mysterious Black Exterior that leads to a Pure White Interior - Yanko Design
Briefly

From the outside, this home defies conventional expectations, with an all-black exterior that contrasts sharply with the vibrant and creative interior, creating a sense of curiosity.
The house is ingeniously divided into two volumes, featuring different ceiling levels that enhance the perception of space, from a lower ceiling towards the front to a double-height vaulted space at the rear.
The design of the home reflects the maritime history and traditional boat-building sheds of the Lower Wivenhoe Conservation Area, integrating contemporary elements with the historic fabric of the town.
By choosing to work with the neglected site's existing concrete foundations, Paul Archer Design minimized groundworks, reduced waste, and showcased sustainable building practices, preserving the historical integrity of the area.
