Following the Justice Department's successful antitrust case, multiple media companies and ad tech providers have filed lawsuits seeking damages from Google for allegedly maintaining an illegal ad tech monopoly. Vox Media filed suit in the Southern District of New York, alleging Google’s conduct reduced the availability and quality of impressions and deprived publishers of revenue. The Atlantic and Penske Media filed similar suits. Ad tech firms such as PubMatic and OpenX have also sued and provided trial testimony about Google’s conduct. Plaintiffs seek reimbursement for monopoly profits that Google allegedly extracted at publishers’ expense.
