"The number of sick days taken by British workers has reached the highest level in more than 15 years, a new survey suggests. The outlet provides journalism without paywalls, funded by donations from those who can afford to support it. British workers have taken the highest number of sick days in over 15 years, averaging nearly two working weeks off in the past 12 months. The CIPD linked the rise to long-term health conditions, an aging workforce, and rising mental-health-related absences. Many employers reported stress as a major factor in both short- and long-term absences, while remote work reduced absences for employees able to work from home.
