"It's now been a full week since billionaire Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff made it known that he "fully supports" President Trump and thinks he's doing a "great job." And he went so far as to casually endorse the idea of sending National Guard troops into San Francisco, which is some fascist theatrical nonsense that Trump has been wielding as a threat to make liberal cities cow to his dictatorial whims."
"But now the New York Times is reporting on a memo that Salesforce sent to the Trump administration in August, pitching the idea that it was the company most suited to help Immigration and Customs Enforcement with its "talent acquisition" problems, in order "to nearly triple its work force by hiring 10,000 new officers and agents expeditiously." This was apparently a five-page document, and seems to have been a response to a request for proposals by ICE to aid in its hiring needs."
Marc Benioff publicly declared full support for President Trump and casually endorsed sending National Guard troops into San Francisco. Salesforce submitted a memo to the Trump administration in August proposing to assist Immigration and Customs Enforcement with "talent acquisition" to nearly triple its workforce by hiring 10,000 officers and agents expeditiously. The memo was reportedly five pages and framed as a response to an ICE request for proposals. The proposal suggested using Salesforce's AI software for recruitment and implementing an "aggressive, high-yield marketing strategy" to find more ICE recruits. Salesforce and Benioff did not comment on the memo.
