"The gathering took place outside Condé Nast's headquarters in New York's 1 World Trade Center on Wednesday to protest the firing of four unionized staffers and suspension of five of its other members. New York Attorney General Letitia James joined a Condé Nast union rally outside the company's 1 World Trade Center headquarters, urging reinstatement of four fired staffers and asserting enforcement of labor laws. The firings and suspensions followed a confrontation with HR chief Stan Duncan over the decision to fold Teen Vogue into Vogue and lay off several staffers, an episode partly captured on video. Condé Nast said it took disciplinary action for harassing and intimidating conduct that interfered with business operations, cited violations of the collective bargaining agreement, and filed a charge with the National Labor Relations Board. Both the company and the union filed NLRB charges over the dispute.
