Emails released by the House Oversight Committee record exchanges between Michael Wolff and Jeffrey Epstein in 2015 and 2016 advising media strategy around Epstein's relationship with Donald Trump. Wolff recommended letting Trump "hang himself" by denying travel or visits, which Wolff framed as creating PR and political currency that Epstein could use to gain benefit or create a debt. In October 2016 Wolff suggested Epstein could come forward to generate sympathy and damage Trump on the eve of the election. Wolff later posted a video on Instagram that avoided discussing his own ethics or relationship with Epstein while hinting at a possible smoking gun about Trump.
